Student Assessment through PowerSchool

Aspen View Public Schools is working with our school families towards more efficient and effective ways of communicating student achievement. Instead of the traditional ‘report card’ model of communicating student achievement only a few times per year, Aspen View Public Schools now uses PowerSchool to share student achievement information with school families in an ongoing, ‘real-time’ manner.

PowerSchool is a web-based home-to-school collaboration system linking parents, students and schools with real-time information via the internet.

More and more, Aspen View schools are using PowerSchool to provide important information to parents and students such as newsletters and bulletins, attendance reports, and more. Students and parents can also get up-to-date information on assignment and test scores, class marks and other assessment information. Users can opt in to receive notification of new information by email or text message.

Setting up a PowerSchool account is quick and easy. All you need is internet access, and the student’s Access ID and password (mailed home at the beginning of the school year, or available from the student’s school office).

A walkthrough video of how to set up a ParentPortal account is available here.

PowerSchool can be accessed through any Aspen View school or division website in the homepage ‘For Students/Parents’ dropdown menu. A video walkthrough of the PowerSchool account setup process is available here.

In addition, you can download the free PowerSchool app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. If the app is not working, log out and log back in.  If it still does not work, uninstall and install the app again in order for it to work on their mobile app correctly.

A brief description of how to locate student assessment information in PowerSchool can be found here. Aspen View Schools is also is working on creating tutorial information to assist parents in navigating student assessment information in PowerSchool. In the meantime, if you require assistance with PowerSchool, please contact your school office.
